We are part of the Restored Beacon Church Network, and we are changing the story for survivors of domestic abuse. We are seeking to be a place where survivors of domestic abuse (both women and men) are welcomed, accepted and supported.
Domestic abuse isn’t just physical violence. There are lots of ways that abusers control the people they’re meant to love and it might not happen all the time
We are part of the Restored Beacon Church Network, and we are changing the story for survivors of domestic abuse. We are seeking to be a place where survivors of domestic abuse (both women and men) are welcomed, accepted and supported.
We have several people who are on hand to chat to you. You can contact them on a Sunday or at Bretton Lounge by simply speaking to the Service Overseer, welcome team or group leader and asking to speak to Dorothy or Daniel. They will understand and will introduce you to someone suitably trained to speak with you.
We have volunteers who will be able to walk with you, wherever you are on your journey. They can meet up for a chat, they can help with navigating the different systems such as housing and health, they can accompany you to appointments. The most important part of this support is that they will go at your pace, and you will be in control. They will not encourage you to leave if that is not the stage you are at. You can withdraw from support at any point.
If you would like to find out more about this support, then you can call us on 07514 402332 and speak to our Restored Beacon co-ordinator. They will arrange to meet you and explore the type of support you are looking for and, if we can help, with match you with a volunteer.
